I would give this scheme three cheers. Seven or so minutes of unannounced new music, introduced by the composer on stage, can only help to open ears and horizons.

Joe Duddell is the latest UBS Soundscapes: Pioneers composer to have his work performed at an LSO concert at the Barbican. Joe's Azalea Fragments (after Patrick Heron) was premiered on Sunday 1 June 2008.
